Nitric Acid

Nitric Acid refers to an acid substance that is used for the production of ammonium nitrate, a major component of fertilizers. It is also used for producing explosives like trinitrotoluene, nitroglycerin and for oxidizing metals. Nitric Acid is commonly used in the production of plastics and the manufacture of dyes. It is also used for making explosives such as TNT and nitroglycerin. It is one of the most widely used digestion reagents and the most used primary oxidant for the decomposition of organic matter.
