Phthalic Anhydride refers to a chemical substance that is widely used in the production of plasticizers and pigments and also as an anti-scorching agent, and as a heat and heat stabilizer of polyolefins. It is a monomer for synthetic resins such as gyptal, alkyd resins, and polyester intended for contact with food. Phthalic Anhydride is widely produced by selective oxidation as gas for high exothermicity of the reaction, multitubular reactors cooled down by molten salts are the standard technology.
